Determining Water in the Cable

C - R	= feet of water in section

1. Short one pair at one end of the section of section under test. Go to other end of section and using Ohm to distance record the distance to the short in feet. This will be Your “R” reading.

2. Take the same pair and remove the short. Then with your open mode hook the ground lead to a good ground source and the Tip lead and the Ring lead to the same pair. Set the open mode to Air core and make test. This will be your “C” reading.
