Power Influence Test

The pair:

Must test clear of all resistance faults.
Must not have any unbalance conduction.
Must have good continuity.
If a working pair the jumper in the central office must be
separated from the cable pair.

The ground used for the test.

Test the ground source that will be used for the test with a ground resistance test. (If no test is equipment is on the work site hook ground lead to the power neutral.

The location to take the test.

Take the test from the field end of the cable pair only.

The test information

P/I power influence reading should be <80db
Noise reading should be <20db.
Balance reading should be >60db.
